State-Level Coordination Committee Constituted Under Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi for PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana
Chandigarh, February 12 – The Haryana Government has constituted a State-Level Coordination Committee (SLCC) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi for the effective implementation and comprehensive monitoring of the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana at the state level.
According to a notification issued by the Energy Department, the Committee will include the Additional Chief Secretary/Principal Secretary/Secretary of the Energy Department, Housing and Urban Affairs Department, and Rural Development Department; the Chairman of the State Level Bankers’ Committee; and the Managing Directors/Chief Executive Officers of Haryana’s power distribution companies (UHBVN and DHBVN) as members. In addition, the Principal Secretary, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Department, and the Director General, New and Renewable Energy Department, Energy Department, will serve as special invitees.
For better implementation of the scheme, the state government may include other concerned officials in the SLCC as required. The Committee may also invite Secretaries of other Ministries/Departments, other officials, or non-government experts for deliberations to ensure effective and timely execution of the scheme.
The Committee’s mandate includes regular review of all components of the scheme, establishing coordination among various departments, preparing an action plan for installation of rooftop solar plants on all government buildings, monitoring the progress of rooftop solar installations in government buildings, and ensuring inter-departmental coordination to maximize awareness, capacity building, and promotion of rooftop solar installations. The Committee will also coordinate with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, and provide suggestions for better implementation of the scheme.
The designated State Implementing Agency for the PM-Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme will provide necessary office support to the Committee.
